I Spy... A Great Giveaway!

I Spy... A Great Giveaway!

It's been about a year since I started Mommy's Favorite Children's Books last summer and when it started, I hoped someday to do a giveaway contest with a great prize.   Now I am happy to announce the first blog giveaway..... featuring I Spy books.

I Spy books are favorites of my 4.5 year old son.  We have a few in our collection and he enjoys the photos so much.  I love how focused he is while working on searching for items within the pictures.  We love I Spy books for anytime, and they are very useful when kids need to sit a while while waiting or traveling.

This giveaway celebrates a brand new I Spy book....
I Spy A to Z!

Easy-to-read riddles by Jean Marzollo are paired with forty-six object-filled photographs by Walter Wick to create I Spy A to Z, the most engaging alphabet book ever! With more than thirty titles and 36 million books in print, the I Spy series continues to win the hearts and minds of parents and kids everywhere.

This giveaway offers FIVE prizes!  Wow!

One very lucky reader will receive an awesome grand prize package valued at more than $80 with books AND games!

Well, my favorite children's book continuously changes but right now it is "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus" by Mo Willems because both my one-year-old and preschooler love to read it over and over! It is unusual to find a book that appeals to both ages. Good luck with your first giveaway!

Right now, my little ones favorites are any of the Pigeon books or anything Curious George. I am still a huge fan of the Lorax. Congratulations on your first year!

Hi Karen-

My favorite children's book is "Bark, George" by Jules Feiffer. I love it because the kids I taught loved it, and after reading it will them a few times, they could 'read' it with me. They loved the funny drawings and the funny story, and they looked forward to reading it almost every day

My favorite children's book is Jerome by Philip Ressner. It's out of print, but it was my mom's favorite book to read to me when I was little. It's wonderfully written and has great illustrations. The story is about a frog who thinks he is a prince.

Congratulations on your first year!

I love the book Good Night Engines. We found it quite by accident, but it soon became a favorite of mine and my son. I love the illustrations and the message, at the end of the night, all engines (little boys included) are ready for sleep!

There are so many good ones to choose from! At the moment I like to read The Seven Silly Eaters by Mary Ann Hoberman. It is fun to read with the rhyming words!

I really enjoy sharing favorites of mine, from when I was a kid. Some of the favorites that my 5 year old DD enjoys are "Corduroy", "Blueberries for Sal" & "The Lorax". It makes me so happy when DD enjoys the classics from my childhood.

That is a tough choice, but our current favorite book is Are You Ready to Play Outside? (an elephant and piggie book) by Mo Willems. This series of books is funny, but this one is our favorite. You know its a good one when you child quotes part of the book back to you!

Our favorite book is Zin Zin Zin a Violin. The rhythm of the words is great and he uses the perfect words to describe each instrument and the pictures go perfectly with the words.

My favorite children's book is "I Love You Stinky Face" because the little boys goes through all these scenarios with his mom about if he was these different creatures and monsters and his mom just lets him know that no matter what he was, she would love him and take care of him. The illustrations are awesome and all 3 of my boys have loved this book and I love reading it to them. It's just a fun book with a sweet message!

I'm pretty selfishly leading my children to my own childhood favorites. So far Ramona, Henry & Ribsy books as well as the infamous Amelia Bedelia get a ton of play around here.

Reading Ramona books from the viewpoint of a parent is beyond hilarious.

Congratulations on your 1 year anniversary!

I asked my 3.5 year old what her favorite book is and she responded Sleeping Beauty...oy! I swear we read so many other books but she just got that book at BJ's this weekend, so it's currently her fav.

Too many to choose!! Right now I'd say I really like the Knuffle Bunny books by Mo Willems -- and my daughter loves them, too! Love the illustrations and some of the parental humor.

We also can't get enough of our Barefoot Books -- since we planted a garden this weekend, our favorite is "What's This? A Seed Story." cute cute cute. Love that it's a simple story about a girl growing a flower, and teaches about patience, responsibility and sharing.

thanks -

My oldest one loves the The Magic Treehouse series, and I love them for all the interesting tidbits I read about the historical times. But other books that we love are any of the Dr. Seuss books, and any of the Mo Willems books. Those books are new to me and my preschooler and I just crack up at all the illustrations. Mine favorite of his are the Pigeon finds a Hot Dog and Knuffle Bunny. My daughter's favorite is probably Knuffle Bunny because she loves all the baby speak.

The elementary students in our library media center voted for their favorite picture book of the year. "The Great Fuzz Frenzy" by Janet Stevens.

We also have many students checking out our I Spy books. We hide a Waldo doll in our library and the first student to "Find Waldo" in the library wins a visit to the treasure box behind our circulation desk. Our learning hub is an exciting place.

I love The Giving Tree because it is a story with many life lessons that my 5 year-old AND my 2-year-old can understand, each at their own level of maturity.

What a great give away! That question is so hard to answer, but I usually say Harold and the Purple Crayon, because I love the power of imagination idea.

Our fave book is "the snowy day". My son loves it because they did the play at school and he got to be the main character (although it was a silent play). He did great!!

Oh, I'm so glad I ran across your blog! I've been searching for books to read to my girls.

My email is on my profile page, when you click on my name. :)

One of my favorite children's books is The Girl with the Silver Eyes. I don't remember a lot of specifics, but I remember completely understanding the main character. She gets treated differently because of her intelligence (and her supernatural powers)!

Sorry...this wouldn't let me enter...this is my third try.
My favourite story was Jane Eyre...still is. I also love Dr. Seuss...he was a brilliant man. Jack Prelutsky's poems are pretty cool too.

My favorite childrens book is Are You My Mommy? I like it because the characters are cute and so is the story line. It's a great bed time story.
